José “Che” Flores, (Fajardo, P.R., 1944)
Ceramista, pintor y escultor. Obtuvo un Bachillerato en Artes Plásticas de la Escuela de Artes Plásticas de San Juan y más tarde, a través de un intercambio cultural, se traslada a México para estudiar en la Escuela de Artesanías Jalisciense donde además fue profesor de alfarería. Luego se traslada a la Academia de San Carlos “La Ciudadela” dedicándose a su obra. A su regreso a Puerto Rico, en 1975, trabajó para el gobierno organizando talleres de arte para las comunidades especiales y también se destacó como profesor en el Colegio La Piedad y en la Universidad de Puerto Rico. Entre los proyectos que ha colaborado se encuentran la restauración del Parque Luis Muñoz Rivera creando para esto los mosaicos que ahí se encuentran y la creación de tapices para la SKF y el Parador Gripiñas en Jayuya. El tema principal de su obra gira en torno a la cultura indígena puertorriqueña.

Ceramist, painter and sculptor. He obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Escuela de Artes Plasticas de San Juan and later, through a cultural exchange, he moved to Mexico to study at the Escuela de Artesanías Jalisciense where he also taught pottery. He then moved to the Academia de San Carlos “La Ciudadela” to dedicate himself to his work. Upon his return to Puerto Rico, in 1975, he worked for the government organizing art workshops for special communities and also excelled as a teacher at the Colegio La Piedad and the University of Puerto Rico. Among the projects he has collaborated on are the restoration of the Luis Muñoz Rivera Park, creating the mosaics found there, and the creation of tapestries for the SKF and the Gripiñas Parador in Jayuya. The main theme of his work revolves around the Puerto Rican indigenous culture.
