Christian Martínez (San Juan, Puerto Rico, 1981)
Pintor y dibujante. Estudió sus primeros años en la Escuela Central de Artes Visuales de Santurce. Egresado de la prestigiosa Escuela de Artes Plásticas del Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña donde obtuvo un Bachillerato en Artes Plásticas con concentración en Educación del Arte. Entre sus profesores más destacados se encuentran Eluciano Vega, Zilia Sánchez, Giampiero Rosati y Luis Felipe López. Este intrépido joven, actualmente se desempeña como profesor de arte en la E.A.P. Crea a través de su lenguaje plástico imágenes de gran fuerza expresiva, sicológica y emocional. Trabaja con singularidad y originalidad el tema del paisaje urbano. En la mayoría de sus obras la figura humana queda relegada a una función menor y el escenario o lugar que escoge se convierte en protagonista de su obra. Ingeniosamente a través de la utilización del color logra crear un dialogo elocuente entre su pintura y el espectador. En sus trabajos artísticos podemos encontrar reminiscencias del gran artista Edward Hopper de quien es gran admirador.
Christian Martínez (San Juan, Puerto Rico, 1981)
Painter and draftsman. He studied his first years at the Central School of Visual Arts in Santurce. Graduated from the prestigious Escuela de Artes Plásticas del Instituto de Cultura Puertorriqueña where he obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in Art Education. Among his most distinguished teachers are Eluciano Vega, Zilia Sanchez, Giampiero Rosati and Luis Felipe Lopez. This intrepid young man, currently works as an art teacher at E.A.P. He creates through his plastic language images of great expressive, psychological and emotional strength. He works with singularity and originality the theme of the urban landscape. In most of his works the human figure is relegated to a minor role and the scenery or place he chooses becomes the protagonist of his work. Ingeniously through the use of color he manages to create an eloquent dialogue between his painting and the spectator. In his artistic works we can find reminiscences of the great artist Edward Hopper of whom he is a great admirer.
