Javier Maldonado O’Farrill, (San Juan, PR, 1976)

Posee una Maestría en Artes Plásticas con concentración en Grabado No-Tóxico y menor en Pintura del Rochester Institute of Technology, Nueva York, un Bachillerato en Humanidades, concentración en Artes Plásticas con área de énfasis en Grabado y otro Bachillerato en Administración de Empresas con concentración en Finanzas, ambos de la Universidad de Puerto Rico, recinto de Río Piedras. Fue de esta última institución que recibió el premio Carlos Marichal por excelencia en Grabado. Mientras completaba su Maestría recibió el Premio de Compra de la biblioteca Wallace del Rochester Institute of Technology.

Ha trabajado como instructor de arte en diferentes instituciones tales como: el Rochester Institute of Technology, College of Imaging Arts and Sciences, en el Museo de Historia, Antropología y Arte, Universidad de Puerto Rico y en el Museo de San Juan, Puerto Rico. Ha sido asistente de cátedra e impresor del Prof. Keith Howard.

Entre las exposiciones individuales podemos mencionar “We Support Our Troops”, Bevier Gallery, Rochester Institute of Technology; Store Front Anti-War Crisis Center Center en Nueva York, y en la Galería Guatibirí de Río Piedras, Puerto Rico; y “Not Titled Yet”, Bevier Gallery, Rochester Institute of Technology, Nueva York. Su obra ha sido exhibida en ciudades como San Francisco, Miami y Nueva York, y países como Japón, Portugal, República Dominicana y España.

Javier Maldonado O’Farrill, (San Juan, PR, 1976)

He holds a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts with concentration in Non-Toxic Printmaking and minor in Painting from Rochester Institute of Technology, New York, a Bachelor’s Degree in Humanities, concentration in Fine Arts with emphasis in Printmaking and another Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with concentration in Finance, both from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. It was from the latter institution that he received the Carlos Marichal award for excellence in Printmaking. While completing his Master’s degree he received the Wallace Library Purchase Award from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

He has worked as an art instructor at different institutions such as: the Rochester Institute of Technology, College of Imaging Arts and Sciences, the Museum of History, Anthropology and Art, University of Puerto Rico and the Museum of San Juan, Puerto Rico. He has been a teaching assistant and printer for Prof. Keith Howard.
